avatarI found this artical to be interesting and informative but I think it is also laughable that there is any debate about the subject. It is not new or unknown that animals ingage in homosexual behaviour.
Not too long ago as I was scanning the radio I heard some country singer attacking homosexuality by twanging out some lyrics that said something about "you don't see that down on the farm". I laughed to myself because that uniformed assertation is patently false.
I worked on dairy farms when I was young and one of the things that I found interesting was the industries' practice of putting heat tapes on the backs of the cows. These heat tapes contain a dye capsule that burts when the cow goes into heat and is mounted by the other (need I say, female) cows. This alerts the dairy farmer to the fact that the cow is ready to breed. This is a prime example of how homosexual behaviour in farm animals is ,not only known on the farm, but is exploited by the farmer.
To the foolish musician who wrote that song, I'd like to say "don't sing about the farm if you've never been there."
