Aissa - maybe this site will help if u are considering staying at Khaosan Road.

http://www.khaosanroad.com

I stayed at Bhiminn Inn (Phra Sumen Road a few blocks from Khaosan) a couple of times before I moved to Bangkok...

How long will you be here...?

Grace

hi Aissa!
U can also check www.khaosanby.com

I have stayed on and around Khaosan plenty of times and Buddy lodge right on Khaosarn was nice but a little expensive if u are on a budget. D&D on Khaosarn is ok with single to triple rooms for 550-1000 bath including breakfast buffe and quite nice pool aeria on top floor but noisy as hell if have room facing crazy Khaosarn rd!

Lucky house next to Khaosarn (close to the police station) is good if u are on budget! 350bath for single room and 390 bath for double ,its simple but clean and friendly staff , and u at least have air con,hot water , tv .

If u are on a really tight budget u have some really cheap places around Khaosarn, i cant remeber tha name now but once i stayed in a 80 bath room ust to try at a guesthouse but it was quite horrible , felt like i was in a prison cell, so its worth put a little more bath in and get better standard.
Good luck!
Veronika

Warning! a place to not stay in is "White orchid" in Banglampoo aeria behind Khaosarn, me and a friend fr Sweden staied there 1 night some years ago and woke up with bed flie bites all over our bodies !! so disgusting, itchy and horrible! The restaurang and "hang out, chill" place downstairs is quite ok . And maybe the rooms are better now? lets hope it improved!

My favorite hotel is a 5 mins walk from Khao San, very nice and quiet area.
It's called New Siam gesthouse 1 (there are 3) and prices start at B 370,- fro a double fan room with shared bathroom.

It's a safe and clean place to stay and the restaurant is nice too. Only 1 min walk to Phra-a-thit boat station.

I used to go to Siam 2, to have a more quiet time in the restaurant there. It's the same menu as Siam I for the same price. Good value.
